Explore how biological information is inherited, altered and passed between generations. Advanced studies investigate mutations, inheritance patterns, natural selection and the mechanisms driving evolutionary change.
Examine how electrical and chemical signals travel through neural networks and how these networks produce perception, memory, decision-making and complex behaviour.
Investigate microorganisms and the environments in which they exist. Candidates explore bacterial systems, viruses, microbial ecosystems and the mechanisms organisms use to survive changing conditions.
Study how the major systems of the human body operate as an integrated network. Particular attention is given to homeostasis, circulation, respiration, hormones and communication between organs.
